Reading Franklin Rides a Bike
Naomi has been wanting to read "Franklin Rides a Bike" a book whose title makes me crazy. Since the book is about Franklin learning to read HIS bike I wish that was the title....but I digress.
Tonight I read it to her and she interrupted me over and over again telling me what has happening.
When she asked me to read it again I suggested that she should read it to me.
Her version of the book was fantastic. Details from the book that she has heard me read over and over again were sprinkled with her general questions and observations about the book.
Is Franklin's swing a piece of wood?
This is Franklin's bike.
Why don't animals wear shoes (Franklin's friends are such characters as Beaver, Porcupine and bear)?
Who will swing next to him?
When she asked the question about swingining I suggested that maybe Naomi could.
"I can't swing with him. I'm not an animal,"Naomi said with a crinkle between her eyes and a very matter of fact tone in her voice.
"I'm a unicorn."
